So you want a new car but can’t seem to make your finances stretch far enough? Or maybe you’ve already found the car of your dreams, but know there’s no way you could even consider buying it. You’re not alone – the car industry has been hit hardest of all by the credit crunch and sales have reached an all time low. It seems no one can afford to think about a new car right now.

But don’t let that put you off – there is still another option. There is a way you could still get the car you want, without even having to pay upfront for it. Car contract hire or leasing agreements are a great way to choose the exact car you want and you only have to pay one manageable monthly fee.

I know what you’re thinking, there's got to be a catch, right? Well, actually, no there really isn't. Yes you have to sign a contract but you get to choose from any car on the market, even those that would normally be out of your price range. In fact, the more popular and desirable the car, the better deals you can get. It’s not like buying a new car where the value decreases with time, most contract hire agreements are based on your projected usage so they take wear and tear into account and when the contract ends you can trade it in for a newer model.

Choosing contract hire will usually also help with the running cost of having a car – often the road tax and servicing costs are thrown in to the monthly instalments so you won’t find yourself suddenly landed with huge repair bills. And being able to trade the car in every few years means you’ll always have the latest model so it’s less likely to break down.

Basically, it’s a really beneficial and financially viable way of getting a new car without any of the worries of buying outright – and it really does make sense, especially now when times are hard. And who knows, you might even be able to get that dream car after all!

When you have challenges with your tires constantly, you may have a job that make you always be in sticky situations, or that you travel alot. Whatever, it can be expensive if you have absolutely no knowledge of what you are doing. If you do not have the above problems, you can pretty much get away with cheap tires easily.

There are some times when cheap tires won’t do. If you are thinking of going for long trip, then do not save on tires. If your trip will be going on snow and sleet, then do not skimp on tires. When you have to drive through construction areas often both on the highway or in relation to your job, you need the best you can get such as Goodrich or Dunlap. Other than that though, you can get the less expensive tires and have very good luck with them. Just keep a close eye on these tires since they will not last too long.

The good time to buy cheap tire is when you only need to change just one tire. If only one tire went flat, then you need not change the entire all at once. Finding cheap tires for this reason can save you some money then and in the future. That means the tire will be fine and may be wearing out when the rest of yours do, so you can then replace them all at once. However, it is recommended that you change tires by the twos to avoid them going bald at the same time.

You can get cheap tires easily, but stay away from the lower end of the brand. You can still get a great deal on them without getting tires that will only last a couple of months, and might even be a little dangerous. Do not save money on cheap tire at the expense of your family. Check the air pressure constantly and make sure it is at the proper level to prolong the tire life.

When one thinks of the Toyota Yaris, there is not much confusion about what to expect from the car.  A small car which is meant for a reasonably small budget. The car itself is not cheating by cutting costs at the expense of safety, luxury and driving enjoyment. A typical Yaris is a modern car for a modern trendy buyer and very fuel efficient too. A nice car at a nice price.

Enter the Yaris TS, a much more vulgar expression of what other Yaris’s should not be. Would the same buyer, a person who is probably not prepared to pay above a certain amount for a car be very excited about a Yaris costing close to twice as much as the entry level model? Would the same buyer whose list of realistic features of what car to buy (not a dream car mind you) would not include top speed, 0-60 mph times and circuit like handling... Would this person look at their modest Yaris and think, wow how dumb can I be, I should have bought the much more expensive small car which is not any bigger that mine.

But there is a car out there in production and Toyota is hoping it will sell. The TS is powered by a 1.8 litre dual VVT-i engine producing 98kw (132hp). Surprisingly for a car with the much power Top speed is just above 200 km/h while 0-100km (60mph) is the 9 seconds region.

The car does well in terms of fuel consumption (7 litres for every 100 km). Other than that, slow standing still acceleration and a reasonable top speed(220km/h). This car is really just another Yaris with a bigger engine, revised suspension and chassis to handle the power, a few extra electronics for safety and driving dynamics. The exterior is not that different except for the 17 inch wheels. Not that much change on the interior.

So then who would buy this car?

A)     Hyperactive teens with money to spend

Answer: No. They would rather have the new Ford fiesta or Honda Civic or even the older Volkswagen Polo

B)      Old women wanting a faster Yaris

Answer: No. This car is not that fast for the amount of power it has. Honda Jazz would be a good alternative.

C)      Seasoned petrol heads looking for some things spunky and excitingly fast but not being the usual suspects (M3, RS4, AMG).

Answer: Well a good option is the Renault Clio R27. Just a little more expensive but more rewarding.

D)      Absolute brain dead individuals needing their heads checked? No.

Toyota would have done their market research before embarking on this adventure. And a good number of people would have ticked in the yes box for wanting a Yaris that is a little bit more expensive. So the point is Toyota is leading the way in keeping their customers happy.

Has this ever happened to you?

There you are driving happily along and you glance down at the petrol gauge. Oops the petrol gauge says it is hovering close to empty!

Now I really want to get to work before I am late and all the garages seem to have queues a mile long (well almost!) so I decide to carry on and get some petrol later on in the day.

Needless to say I forget. With every mile I take I am pushing my luck and promising myself that I will definately fill up at the next petrol station. At a guess I reckon I have covered another 15 miles or so until I have topped the tank up.

I have a Toyota RAV4 and in my user guide it says "when the petrol light comes on you should fill up soon." Well "soon" means different things to different people. Can anyone tell me how many more miles they have been able to travel when the petrol light shows red? My husband drives a peugeot and his manual says "when the petrol light comes on you can go approximately 30 more miles."

I suppose I could experiment and top up the petrol can that I keep for emergencies (usually empty I may add) and fill it up and drive to a quiet residential area until the petrol light comes on. Set the milometer and then drive until the tank is empty. Then I would know how far I can go before I run out completely. Simple idea, but probably not too brilliant for the engine.

I suppose the sensible thing to do would be to go the other way and never allow the tank to go below three quarters empty because at the end of the day it really is so much hassle having to panic at the last minute and find somewhere to fill up!

I would be interested to hear how many miles you have managed to drive after the red light has appeared!

Covering your place through the same can scale back your premiums by another 10-15 p.c.

One guideline is to hold the highest deductible you're able to afford. By enlarging your deductible from $100 to $1,000, you could save up to 25%. Installing a car recovery system like Lo-Jack or Teletracer could save you up to 7-10% each year. There are way more relatively inexpensive anti-theft devices like "The Club", which locks the wheel in effect and having your Automobile Identification Number ( VIN ) engraved on each window. While traffic tickets and auto accidents will increase your premiums, most insurance companies offer rebates to drivers with clean records. Also, some insurance firms will offer a discount if you go to a Driver Training School Program, and your employer might even pay the price ticket if you employ a company vehicle for your job. If you have an older vehicle worth between $1,000 - $2,000, you could be better off dropping the collision coverage. Check to figure out if your collision premium is more than the price of the vehicle. Most insurers surcharge premiums if the commute to work surpasses 3 miles.

Carpooling with a work-mate may lead to a reduction for low-mileage use. Question : Is the automobile insurance policy invalid if the driver neglected to report the conviction? The auto insurance policy is instantly replenished.

Does that suggest he has made his policy invalid and would not guarded by the policy at all? Answer : If your insurance company called you on renewal and asked you if you had any new tickets or traffic violations and you particularly announced no knowing you probably did that would cause you issues, but if they didnt call you and you probably did get one you can always tell them.

Working for an insurance company for years now i know we might never void a policy if they didnt report a violation to us. I might give them a call and tell them you probably did get one and I wouldnt worry to much, just always be truthful with them as they have a right to pull your driving record and they'll call you on your non disclosure if you claimed no.

Question : am I able to start insurance on a new auto with a new insurance supplier before this policy runs out ? My current vehicle insurance policy runs out at the end of the month and I won't be replenishing with them.

I am getting a new automobile approx 2 weeks before the expiry date. Am I able to start the insurance with another company and 'overlap' the insurance?
Answer : You CAN do that since you are changing any way. You may wish to inform your Previous insurance company when you have the NEW coverage in force - simply to elude any duplication of coverage and any "earned premium." If the company instantly replenishs and you don't inform them, they would attempt to collect for the time you had coverage in force. Just show them a copy of your fresh policy and they may cancel the old. Get your free quote here auto insurance in California

In 2009, Volkswagen is reintroducing the diesel powered Jetta TDI with a new clean turbo diesel engine that meets emissions standards.Diesel fans love diesel cars for their excellent power and fuel economy. Those who dislike diesels say they are smoky, smelly and slow.
Diesels are uncomplicated, you can drive all day, still getting great fuel economy. The Volkswagen Jetta TDI almost sounds too good to be true. According to Volkswagen, the Jetta TDI is faster to 60 MPH than a petrol driven Jetta and it's 50% more fuel efficient.
This is also an extremely practical car. The interior of the car is straightforward, if somewhat plain. The driving position is near on perfect with a height adjustable driver's seat plus a tilt and telescope steering wheel. There is loads of back seat space and all round visibility is good. The boot is spacious with a flat floor and sides, making it so much easier to load.
The Jetta TDI is powered by a new 2 litre, 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine and it delivers 140 horsepower compared to that of the 170 horsepower of the 2.five litre five cylinder engine in the petrol driven Jetta. Diesels turn slower than petrol engines, hence the low horsepower number.
Rapid acceleration is not the Jetta TDI's strong point. Put your foot down and there's a pause, a fairly slow move off, and then a surge of power.
Economy of fuel. It is estimated that the automatic Volkswagen Jetta TDI averages 29 MPG around the towns and 40 MPG on a run. Lowest petrol consumption was 28 MPG whilst putting the Jetta TDI through its paces. Best was a longer run with the cruise set at 67, with an average of 55 MPG. Even without having cruise control, most of the longer drives averaged 48 MPG or even better.
So, a diesel can definitely save you money and remember, you are going almost twice as far on each gallon.
The VW Jetta TDIis a great diesel car. The Jetta TDI is fast, quiet, very clean and efficient, plus it is comfortable, practical, and great fun to drive.
